Description of the house
Here is our house for rent in Don Muang. A couple of notes about it. It is located in a small, rapidly developing Moo Ban about 3.5 kilometers from Vibhavadi Rangsit, just on the border between Bangkok and Rangsit. About 6 kilometers from Rangsit University.
The house is a Town house, narrow but long. It is a corner unit, so the total area is a bit larger than others, the driveway is quite spaciouse. The main house itself is 12 meters deep by 4 meters wide, two stories. We added a large (4 meters by 4.5 meters) nicely decorated kitchen on the bottom floor.
The upstairs has two bedrooms, and a small, newly renovated bathroom. The downstairs has a large main area, a larger, newly renovated western style bathroom, as well as the new kitchen. The house is fronted by a large driveway, suiteable either for a car, or as a terrace garden.
The house has been fully renovated, above Thai standard but not really western standard. All floors have been retiled, the walls and ceilings repainted and repaired. We put in new water pipes everywhere. The electric system is also new, fully grounded and way over-engineered. (I fear mr. sparky). We put in plenty of outlets and built-in lighting, a ceiling fan in the downstairs, new windows, plenty of outlets, internet connections, phone jacks, cable TV, etc. The house is ready for AC in every room, but we didn't install it yet.
Two bathrooms, one pretty small, one medium sized. Both have been fully retiled, and have modern fixtures (American Standard toilets, sinks, water-heaters, etc.). Both are as nice as a 15 year old Thai house can have, without tearing down the house and starting over.
One large main room on the ground floor (12 by 4), plus the large kitchen and bathroom. The whole floor is tile (new), the walls newly painted in the main room, tiled in the kitchen and bathroom.
The second floor has a large bedroom (5.8 by 4), a second smaller bedroom (4.7 by 4) and a smaller bathroom. The bathroom is tiled on the floors and wall (all new), the rest of the second floor has new floor tiles and newly painted and restored walls.
