While I have always been fascinated with ancient warfare, I unfortunately found it to be a rather boring period to simulate. Most ancient battles were decisive defeats for one side or the other, and historic accuracy made them boring games. That Changed when I discovered DBM, a set of miniature rules for ancient and medieval gaming. The game has an excellent mix between simulation and fun, even if the rules are written in a somewhat confusing way. Below are some of my musings on how to use the armies I have played with. The links lead either to large photos of the armies, or my thoughts on the armies, and how best to use them in DBM.
